Begin by reading 1 Peter 2:2-3. 

• Who are some of the people receiving this letter? 
  
• In what way are you a “newborn baby”? 

Now read 1 Peter 3:13-17 (especially looking at vv. 1 and 16). 

• Does it seem that Peter thought the newborn babies should wait a while before sharing their faith? 
• As a “newborn” what do you have to share with others? 

Write down what you think is involved in each of these statements and why each is so important in making disciples. 

1. “In your hearts acknowledge Christ as the Holy Lord” 
   
2. “Always be prepared to give an answer” 
3. “With gentleness and respect.” 
4. “Keeping a clear conscience” 

Decide which friends on your prayer list that your will talk to about God and when you will do it. 

Pray for them specifically.
